Entropy Production in the Diffusion of a Margules Solution in a Plane-Parallel Pore

Abstract: An expression for the entropy production in the case of the facilitated diffusion of a Margules binary solution has been obtained. A stabilizing effect with respect to the solution concentration gradient was revealed. The entropy contributions to changes of the thermodynamic potentials at the mixing are found to play a dominant role in the transformation of the character of entropy production in the system.
